Biography
Charles began skating as a form of physical therapy for a Achilles Tendon disorder that effected both feet. Charles competitive
skating career spanned more than 20 years and took him to Hong Kong, Canada, Sweden, and all across the United States. When
he was still competitively skating he was fortunate enough to train at some of the premier training centers in the country.
Training at International Skating Center of Connecticut in Simsbury, Ct (ISCC) and the University of Delaware to name a few.
He participated in both mens singles and pairs during his skating career.
In 1998 he was a part of Nutcracker On Ice and started coaching shortly afterwards. Following an automobile accident he
was back at home outside of Martinsburg, West Virginia when his life and skating career drastically changed. At the age of
27 he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Where most people would just give up and walk away, Charles found he couldnt
do that with the sport he loved and been apart of for as long he could remember. He decided to turn what was a hobby into
a business. Crawford Imaging was born. Combining his intimate knowledge of figure skating along with his artistic eye, he
began photographing figure skating along with scenics since he is currently living in the Shenandoah Valley area. We hope
you enjoy his site and his photographic work.
